1. Introduction

These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") apply to all services provided by Handy Home Removals ABN 17 836 862 083 ("We", "Us", "Our") to you ("You", "Your", "Customer").

By booking or using our removal, packing, storage, or related services, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

2. Our Services

We provide furniture removal, relocation, packing, unpacking, and optional storage services. A detailed quote will be provided based on the information you supply. Any variations (extra items, access issues, stairs, parking, etc.) may result in additional charges.

3. Bookings and Deposits

  • A deposit is required to confirm your booking and secure the scheduled date and crew.
  • The deposit amount will be specified in your quote.
  • Your deposit is fully refundable if you cancel or reschedule at least 7 days (168 hours) before the agreed move date.
  • Deposits are non-refundable if you cancel with less than 7 days' notice, fail to appear on the move day, or do not provide adequate access/information.

4. Payment Terms

  • The balance of the agreed price is due on completion of the job (or as specified in the quote).
  • We accept bank transfer, EFTPOS, and credit card. Credit card surcharges may apply.
  • Final charges may vary based on actual volume, time taken, or other factors disclosed at the time of booking.

5. Cancellation and Changes

  • You must notify us of any cancellation or date change in writing (email preferred).
  • Changes requested with more than 7 days' notice are generally accommodated subject to availability.
  • We reserve the right to cancel or reschedule if you do not provide accurate information or safe access.

6. Your Responsibilities

You must:

  • Provide accurate details about items, property access, parking, stairs, and any hazards.
  • Ensure all items are ready for removal (emptied drawers, disconnected appliances, etc.).
  • Obtain any necessary permissions (e.g., from body corporates or landlords).
  • Be present or arrange access on the move day.

7. Our Responsibilities and Limitations

  • We will perform the services with due care and skill as required by Australian Consumer Law.
  • We are not a common carrier and accept no liability as such.
  • We are not responsible for loss or damage caused by:
    • Inherent vice or nature of the goods.
    • Pre-existing damage.
    • Mechanical or electrical failure of appliances.
    • Force majeure events (flood, fire, accident, etc.).

8. Insurance

  • Basic cover is included (limited liability based on weight or value — details in quote).
  • We recommend you arrange additional insurance for high-value or sentimental items.

9. Liability

Our liability is limited as permitted by law. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses. Our maximum liability will not exceed the value of the services paid or the insured amount, whichever is lower.

10. Complaints

Any issues must be reported to us on the day of the move where possible, and in writing within 7 days. We will handle complaints fairly and promptly in line with Australian Consumer Law.

11. Privacy

We collect and handle your personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and our Privacy Policy.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Queensland courts.

13. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of our services after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
